Yesterday I was volunteering in the Victory Gallery in Portsmouth's Historic Dockyard, helping visitors make bear masks and make igloos out of sugar cubes. It was a fun day but also gave me a chance to check up on some knitted fish me and my mum made a few years ago for an amazing display in the children's play area. - All created by volunteer knitters who sent in fish and sea creatures from around the world.
The first part of the display has hundreds of tiny knitted fish (mine is in there somewhere!) arranged in coloured shoals.
The second part is a textile picture of Portsmouth showing the local landmarks, with lots of skilled crochet, knitting and embroidery.
