This quilt is part of an ongoing project exploring what it means to be an artist. It was made as part of a group show for the Hotwalls artists in 2023.
Each of the Artists from the Hotwalls were asked to position themselves on a Venn diagram to describe where their motivation to create comes from. I am interested in the diverse approaches to art and craft represented in our group, the nature of creativity and the reasons why people create what they do.
The artists were questioned here about their personal work rather than commissions, competitions or other commercial work, as I wanted them to reflect on their internal drive to create and their intentions when starting a piece or project.
